OCC KidsFrom babies through High School there is a place at Oakland City Church for your kids.
WHAT WILL MY CHILD EXPERIENCE?
Our goal is to provide an environment where babies and toddlers feel comfortable and secure. Each room is led by caring volunteers who are focused on making sure children are cared for, loved, and accepted.
The Infant Nursery is for our littlest friends who are not yet walking.
The Toddler Nursery is for those who are walking until they are 3 years old and potty-trained.
This program is for youth who are currently in the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. Youth will participate in interactive activities and games, enjoy a snack together, and read scripture and discuss various Christian topics. Similar to the OCC Youth program, the 456er youth program will take place during 2nd service from 11:30am-12:30pm. This group meets in the Chapel room. .
(3 YEARS OLD AND POTTY TRAINED – 3rd GRADE)
We begin our time together in the chapel for a time of ‘Music and Movement’. We then divide the children into two groups based on their age. Children 3 – 5 years old go into the Ark Room while the children 6 years old through 3rd grade go downstairs to the Fruitvale Room. In their classrooms, they will experience an interactive Bible story and hands-on activities using the ‘Godly Play’ curriculum. Near the end of the service, parents collect their children so they can join the rest of the church in the sanctuary for communion
This program is for youth in 7th-12th grades. Youth participate in interactive games, enjoy a meal together, and read scripture and discuss various Christian topics. The OCC youth program takes place during 2nd service from 11:30am-12:30pm. This group meets in the Gym.
On Easter Sunday, baptism will be offered to children and adults who have yet to be baptized. We also do reaffirmation of baptism for those already baptized. Email Pastor Josh for more information.
Throughout Lent, we will be sharing a devotional with daily prayers and readings. You can get a hard-copy of the devotional in the lobby at church on Sunday's. You can also download an e-version here.
