Sheltering In Place Together

Resources and Connections at OCC during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

Our entire community is sheltering in place in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. But we are still the church. Even though we can’t meet together in person, our church will continue to gather, worship, support each other, pray and care for our community. This can be a trying time, but we as a church are committed to getting through it together. This page gives you all the links to our remote community and how you can get plugged in.

Look through the calendar, events and tools to connect together. You can listen to our most recent sermon here.

If you have challenges with accessing Zoom, Facebook or other online tools, please email Myisha at info@oaklandcitychurch.org

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Connect to a roster of support and to give to those in need.

GIVE

Our Greater than One fund is used for immediate needs. We know that in the coming weeks and months, the needs will be great as everyone is impacted by COVID-19. Many are losing income.. The deacons have requested special giving to support this fund to respond to the needs of our community.Give to the Deacons Fund here.

SERVE THE VULNERABLE

Many are asking how they can help our unhoused and vulnerable community right now. OCC continues to partner with East Oakland Collective to collect and distribute hot meals, non perishable goods, and sanitation supplies for our unhoused and elderly siblings. Look at this, volunteer form for ways you might be led to support EOC and to sign up.You can donate to EOC here or go to their amazon wishlist here. You can also look out for EOC calls to action on their Facebook page.

HELP THE CHURCH COMMUNITY

We anticipate the needs in our church community will increase over the next few months. Grocery shopping, mental health check-ins, deliveries – we’re going to need to support each other. We are creating a database of people’s availability and resources. Please complete the form below if you have a need or can offer support.

Please leave your email so we can reach out to you with more news and updates.
